data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>STAAR redesign (also known as STAAR 2.0) is an effort by the Texas Education Agency to make the test more tightly aligned to the classroom experience.\u00a0 The redesign will be implemented during the 2022\u20132023 school year.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The redesigned assessment is a result of <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">HB 3906 passed by the Texas Legislature<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> in 2019 that among other things mandated a cap on the number of multiple-choice questions, transitioned the entire testing process online, and eliminated the stand-alone writing assessments in grades 4 and 7.<\/span><\/p><p>The redesign introduces new interactive item types that are reflective of how students demonstrate knowledge in the classroom and provides scoring options to allow students to earn partial credit on certain questions.<\/p><p>Meeting the individual student needs depends greatly on schools, parents, and community members working together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-057ec5b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"057ec5b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Here are a few ways for parents to help their students prepare for STAAR tests:<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d547d11 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d547d11\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Frequent two-way communication between teachers and parents is necessary to offer feedback, share strategies, determine if student support is sufficient, or determine whether additional supports are needed.<\/li><li>Review sample STAAR content. <a
