This includes being placed with their intellectual peers so that they may take full advantage of their potential.  When bright students are presented with curriculum developed for age-peers, they can become bored and unhappy and get turned off from learning. Students may test to move ahead one grade level in all subjects or single subjects. Testing, especially above-level testing, is highly effective in identifying students who would benefit from acceleration.
