Megan Timme is the new Richardson ISD trustee for District 1. Timme received nearly 58% of the more than 6,800 votes cast in the election on May 1 and is expected to be sworn in at the May 10 Board work session. She succeeds Jean Bono, who has served on the RISD board for two three-year terms.
There were seven candidates running for At Large Place 7, and none received more than 50% of the 17,550 votes, according to Dallas County. Christopher J. Poteet finished with a little more than 36%, and Amanda Clair garnered about 27.5%. Poteet and Clair now face each other in a runoff election scheduled for Saturday, June 5. Early voting will be May 24 through June 1.
Kim Caston, who is leaving the RISD board after a dozen years as trustee, will stay on until after the June 5 election votes are canvassed, which is expected to occur at the June 14 work session of the board.
Many thanks to Jean Bono and Kim Caston for their tireless dedication to RISD, and congratulations to Megan Timme.
