State of Texas Food Benefits (P-EBT)

Enrolled students (up to 21 years of age) in families that temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals for the 2020–2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible to receive Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer.

P-EBT benefits can be used to buy food from any retailer that accepts the Lone Star Card. (This is a state of Texas program, not an RISD program.)

To apply, parents can go to yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT. Applications open Tuesday, June 2, and the deadline to apply is Aug, 13.

For more information about eligibility, applying and getting P-EBT benefits, visit hhs.texas.gov/pebt, or call 833-442-1255, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
