Congratulations to Brandi N. Jackson for being named the 2025 Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented Advocate for the Gifted. Jackson is an Advanced Learning Teacher at Arapaho Classical Magnet and has worked in the district for 11 years. \u201cI am grateful to the RISD community for the many opportunities I\u2019ve been afforded to use my own gifts and talents,\u201d says Jackson.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented<\/a> (TAGT) is the largest state association for gifted education in the United States. They are a non-profit organization that connects and empowers educators to meet the unique needs of the GT community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackson was nominated by a schoolmate and group of parents who not only recognized the impact she has on their children, but also for all GT students. \u201cWe are incredibly proud of Brandi and grateful for all she does for GT kids at Arapaho Classical Magnet, RISD, and beyond,\u201d says Kelsey Karcher, RISD Director of Advanced Learning Programs and Services. \u201cThis is a well-deserved honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners of this award are chosen by their peers in the field, which makes the honor especially meaningful. Jackson comes from a long line of educators and is an active leader and advocate for inclusion in education. She is involved in Teach Plus Texas, Civic Voices of Richardson, the RISD Advanced Learning Advisory Committee, and is a founding member of the RISD Special and Gifted Education PTA. \u201cI feel honored to know such esteemed contributors to the field of education have chosen to celebrate my work,\u201d says Jackson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
