Last school year, the RISD Council of PTA Clothes Closet served 650 students, and they expect to serve at least that many again in 2021-22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Clothes Closet \u2013 located at 1239 Belt Line Road across from Richardson HS \u2013 will begin collecting donations on Monday, Aug. 30, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Donations can then be made every Monday morning when school is in session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please separate clothing items that can be used by students (without holes and stain free) from items that can be donated to the World Wear Project<\/a>, a Dallas-based recycling company that repurposes used clothing, shoes, belts and hats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Clothes Closet also accepts donations of new toiletries and always needs volunteers. You can\u00a0message them via their social media channels<\/a>. Many thanks to the\u00a0RISD community for its continued support of the Clothes Closet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the Texas PTA began awarding scholarship to deserving teachers who exemplifies the “T” in PTA in honor of Marni Kaner \u2013 an RISD parent and teacher, who served at every level of the PTA at the local, council and state level for 20 years.
