{"id":9154,"date":"2022-05-16T11:02:33","date_gmt":"2022-05-16T16:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.risd.org\/home\/?p=9154"},"modified":"2022-06-02T16:21:17","modified_gmt":"2022-06-02T21:21:17","slug":"9154-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.risd.org\/home\/9154-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Two RISD Librarians Earn Bush Foundation Grants","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two Richardson ISD LITEs have received a Laura Bush Foundation Grant that can be used to extend, update, and diversify their campus libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liberty Junior High School\u2019s Taressa Anderson and RISD Academy\u2019s Caroline Ritzer will both receive $5,000 to use to continue their dedicated work of building a culture of reading in RISD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Studies show that a well-managed and fully stocked library helps increase student achievement,&#8221; RISD Director of Library and Information Technology Alejandra Isais said. &#8220;Mrs. Ritzer and Mrs. Anderson have done a wonderful job creating a culture of reading on their campuses centered on student interest and need. This grant will allow these LITEs to provide new books and better curate their libraries so students can continue to connect, learn, grow and succeed.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Laura Bush Foundation for America\u2019s Libraries provides funds to the nation\u2019s neediest schools with the goal of encouraging students to develop a love of reading and learning.
