\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn the 89th Legislative Session, SB 13 created the School Library Advisory Council (SLAC), a local body designed to provide recommendations on proposed library materials as well as policies and processes relating to library acquisition and challenges.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe majority of the SLAC members must be parents that are not employed by the district and are appointed by the RISD Board of Trustees. \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tParents, students, staff, and\/or community members are welcome to ask questions or provide feedback on materials by completing this feedback form<\/strong><\/a>. All comments received within the 30-day comment period will be reviewed and considered prior to finalizing the purchase. Materials listed as elementary would also be available to junior high\/middle school.
