This law &#8211; established in HB 4545, 87R &#8211; was recently updated with the passage of HB 1416, 88R. \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-997fb7d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"997fb7d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Accelerated Instruction Requirements in Texas<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8b326f8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8b326f8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe qualifying students must be:\n<ul>\n \t<li>Assigned a <strong>TIA designated teacher<\/strong> for the subsequent school year in the applicable subject area;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f79e398 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f79e398\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOR\n<ul>\n \t<li aria-level=\"1\">Provided supplemental instruction aligned with the research on high impact tutoring in the TEKS for the applicable grade levels and subject area in the following manner:\n<ul>\n \t<li aria-level=\"2\"><strong>No less than 15 or 30 hours<\/strong> depending on student performance and is provided in the summer or at least once per week in the school year;<\/li>\n\n \t<li aria-level=\"2\"><strong>Limited to two subjects per year<\/strong>, prioritizing math and RLA;<\/li>\n \t<li aria-level=\"2\">Provided in a group of <strong>no more than four students<\/strong>, unless the parent or guardian of each student in the group authorizes a larger group;<\/li>\n \t<li aria-level=\"2\">Designed to assist the student in achieving satisfactory performance in the applicable grade level and subject area and includes <strong>effective instructional materials<\/strong> designed for supplemental instruction;<\/li>\n<\/li>\n<li>Provided by <strong>a person with training in the applicable instructional materials<\/strong> for the supplemental instruction and provided by one person for the entirety of their accelerated instruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4aa5d33 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4aa5d33\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Key Changes in Requirements from HB 1416\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7c311a0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7c311a0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHouse Bill 1416 updated accelerated instruction requirements from House Bill 4545 by:\n<ul>\n \t<li><strong>Removing the requirement for Accelerated Learning Committees<\/strong> while requiring Accelerated Education Plan after student fails to achieve approaches or higher on two consecutive assessments in the same subject area<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Limiting tutoring to 2 subjects<\/strong> and no longer including optional assessment administrations<\/li>\n \t<li>Increasing <strong>student to tutor ratio from 3:1 to 4:1 ratio<\/strong> for tutoring group size<\/li>\n \t<li>Reducing <strong>minimum hour requirement<\/strong> from 30 to 15 for some students*<\/li>\n\n<li>Providing <strong>student to teacher ratio waivers<\/strong> for use of approved online curriculum (approvals available spring 2024)<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-545d243 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"545d243\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div
