school (s) offering <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two- Way Dual Language<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and meets the following criteria:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students whose primary\/first language is Spanish per home language survey completed when first enrolled in school.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> qualify as Emergent Bilingual <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">per language proficiency test taken when first enrolled in school.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students whose primary\/first language is English and who commit to program participation requirements.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Priority will be given to students residing in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two- Way Dual Language<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Campus attendance zone.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*Additionally, a minimum <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5-<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">year program participation commitment is required. Kindergarten and 1st grade will have limited seats because most students currently enrolled will continue the program in the next school year. The class size for grades K &#8211; 2 will be 22 students. During these meetings, families will receive important information about our philosophy for bilingual education, program design, state testing, and expectations. Both student groups have the opportunity to become biliterate, bilingual, and bicultural scholars. Instruction is provided in English and Spanish, and language learning is integrated with content instruction as they progress through elementary years. It is important to note that in order to offer a full-immersion experience, English speaking students will receive literacy instruction in Spanish in the early elementary grades.
