Public Information

RISD admin building

Because of recent developments throughout the nation and Texas related to COVID-19, the Richardson Independent School District is closed indefinitely.  This closure does affect the District’s response to requests for public information.  All deadlines related to public information requests are tolled (i.e., on hold) until the closure restrictions are lifted and RISD reopens and returns to its normal operations.

Please check our website, www.risd.org, for updated information about this closure.  In addition, the RISD website contains a great deal of information and is easily searchable.  You may be able to find information responsive to your request directly from the website.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.

The Richardson Independent School District (RISD or the District) Office of Records Management makes public information available to members of the public in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA). Our office also provides copies of student records that are not available through the student’s campus.

The Board of Trustees of the RISD designated the Records Manager as the official to receive requests for public information. All requests for public information must be submitted writing. RISD will respond to each request in writing in the manner required by the TPIA.

A request for public information may be submitted by U.S. Mail, hand delivery, or email:

By U.S. Mail or hand delivery:

400 S. Greenville Ave.

Please note that RISD is not required to respond to a request for information that is submitted via a method that is different than those listed above.
