What is STEM education?

STEM Education is an approach to teaching and learning that integrates the content and skills of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The goal of STEM education is to prepare students for post-secondary study and the 21st century workforce.

What does Future-Ready: STEM4All mean in RISD?

Future-Ready: STEM4ALL is a learning framework that provides access to STEM education for all students through problem-based learning, STEM electives, competitions, and clubs.

How do schools address STEM education in RISD?

Implementation occurs at each grade level and is addressed in all content areas during the regular school day. In addition, there are several STEM related extracurricular programs such as FIRST Robotics and other STEM clubs that are available on a school by school basis. There is no official STEM Program, however we offer a variety of courses and experiences that have a STEM focus beginning in Pre-K through high school.
