Bullying Prevention and Intervention

Bullying Prevention and Intervention is a priority in Richardson ISD. Through counselor lessons, classroom lessons, and schoolwide PBIS, students learn how to build a safe and supportive school environment, identify bullying and stand up to it safely, as well as how to report incidents of bullying behavior.

Drug Prevention and Intervention

Peer Helping and Mentoring (PALs)

Peer Helping and Mentoring (PALs) courses are offered at each of the RISD high schools. Students enrolled in PALs learn a variety of life skills that assist them in supporting their peers as well as mentoring elementary school students in their learning community.

Peer Mediation (PeaceKeepers)

Peer Mediation (PeaceKeepers) courses are offered at each of the RISD high schools. Students enrolled in PeaceKeepers receive training in conflict management, conflict resolution, and violence prevention. These students provide the opportunity for their peers to resolve conflict through mediation as well as support peer mediation programs at the junior high and elementary campuses in their learning community.

LIFT - Loving Intervention for Teens (Referral Process)

LIFT – Loving Intervention for Teens (Referral Process) is offered on all secondary campuses as an early intervention for students experiencing non-academic barriers to success. The LIFT team consists of a variety of trained campus staff.

TOPS - Teens Offering Peer Support (After School Group)

TOPS – Teens Offering Peer Support (After School Group) is open to any secondary student who desires to maintain a positive healthy lifestyle, is open to learning effective ways to support peers, model positive life choices, and manage conflict in positive ways.

Communities in Schools (CIS)

Communities in Schools (CIS) – The mission of Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region, Inc. (CISDR) is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Several campuses throughout RISD receive services from CIS.
