ABC High School – Lockdown

ABC H.S. Parents,

Please thoroughly review this message related to a safety situation at ABC H.S..

As a precaution, RISD Safety & Security/XX Police has directed our campus to enter a lockdown protocol as XX Police and RISD investigate a threat/threatening message related to the school.

Students and staff are currently safe. An RISD campus enters a lockdown protocol to maintain student and staff safety when a possible threat inside the school is being investigated. X Police and RISD Safety & Security are currently at school and we are assisting their work to determine if the threat is credible.

As a reminder, when a school is in a lockdown, students and employees move behind locked doors, out of sight, with lights off and minimal noise. Parents should not call or travel to a school during a lockdown – parents will not be able to enter the school, students cannot be released, and school staff and law enforcement must focus their attention and resources on keeping students safe. Learn more here about RISD safety protocols and how parents can stay ready.

When safe, our staff will encourage students with cellphones to contact parents to let them know they are ok.

We will update you as the situation changes or when we have the all clear to return to our normal school day. Please monitor your email and text-enabled phone for further updates.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
