Payments
Taxpayers have the option to pay by Personal Check, Cash, Money Order, Cashier’s Check, Credit Card, Debit Card, or ECheck. Credit Card and Debit Card payments may be made online or in person at the Tax Office. There is a 3.2% fee charged on all card payments and a $5.00 fee for ECheck payments. ECheck payments must be made online. Checks may be mailed, dropped in the Tax Office drop box or delivered in person.
It is not recommended for taxpayers to use their bank’s online bill pay service to pay their property taxes. However, if a bank’s online bill pay service is used, taxpayers are encouraged to set the authorized payment date at least 15 days prior to the delinquency date as envelopes with payments sent by banks or their agents are not postmarked by the United States Post Office. Consequently, there is no proof of the mailing date. If for any reason the bank places a date on the check that is past the delinquency date, the payment will be considered late and penalty and interest will be incurred.
Payments may be made in person at the Tax Office during our office hours or mailed to the address listed above. There is also a drop box available for payments. The drop box is located just to the left of the door to the Tax Office. Please make your checks payable to RISD. If you owe delinquent taxes on prior years and would like to set up a payment plan, you may contact our law firm at metro 817-461-3344.
If you need any type of paid receipt, signed affidavit, etc. returned to you, you must provide a stamped self-addressed envelope

About Your Tax Statement
The 2024 tax statements were mailed in October 2024. If you have an escrow with your lender, the lender should request the tax statement for payment. All other statements will be sent to the property owner. If you would like a copy of your tax statement, you may print one off this website (see above). You may also call our office and we can mail or email a tax statement to you. If you receive a tax statement and you have an escrow with your lender, please contact your lender.
The 2024 tax statement covers taxes from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. Payment is due upon receipt and is due no later than January 31, 2025. A postmark of January 31, 2025 is acceptable. Payments postmarked after January 31st will be assessed with penalty and interest. A metered date is NOT considered a postmark.
We suggest you have the post office hand stamp the date on your envelope to guarantee a January postmark. The same policy applies to each month thereafter.Exemptions
