EOC Certificate of Completion

High school students in Texas must pass a series of assessments to receive a graduation diploma from the State of Texas. Students who have met all graduation requirements with the exception of meeting state assessment requirements are awarded a Certificate of Completion. These individuals are encouraged to continue taking the needed State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end-of-course assessment each time it is administered in order to meet the final graduation requirement and receive their high school diploma.

There are a few national assessments that can be used as a substitute for the end-of-course assessment graduation requirement. A chart of the substitute assessments and the required passing score can be downloaded by on the TEA website

If you attended a Richardson ISD high school and feel this applies to you, please visit
http://bit.ly/RISDGrad and complete the survey.  We will be happy to help find out if you are eligible for graduation through a substitute assessment.  Please note, this process can take up to four weeks to complete.

If you do not currently meet any of the substitute assessments and would like to take the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end-of-course (EOC) assessment for graduation requirements, please contact the RISD Assessment Center at 469-593-8378 or
testing@risd.org to learn about the next testing opportunity.

Practice test questions can be found on the Texas Education Agency website

Please call the RISD Counseling Services Department at 469-593-7470 with questions regarding the graduation process.
