Sick Leave Bank
RISD employees have developed two employee Sick Leave Banks to provide certain benefits to eligible members.
Regular Sick Leave Bank
All district employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week and are in an allocated budgetary position are eligible for membership. Membership in the Regular Sick Leave Banks is voluntary. To become a member of the Regular Sick Leave Bank, an employee must submit a completed application and contribute the mandatory three (3) days from his/her accrued local sick leave. Members may apply to the Regular Sick Leave Bank to receive pay to cover otherwise unpaid leave in the event of the employee’s unexpected illness, surgery, or a temporary disability due to an injury. Open enrollment happens in September
COVID 19 Sick Leave Bank
All district employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week and are in an allocated budgetary position are eligible for membership. Membership in the Sick Leave Banks is voluntary. To become a member of the COVID 19 Sick Leave Bank, an employee must submit a completed application and contribute the mandatory two (2) days from his/her accrued local sick Leave. Members may apply to the COVID 19 Sick Leave Bank to receive pay to cover otherwise unpaid leave in the event of the employee’s unexpected illness due to COVID 19 or if the employee is required to quarantine due to COVID 19.
