Why is Richardson ISD conducting a Superintendent Search?
What type of search is the RISD Board conducting?
What is the Board looking for in a new Superintendent?
Over the month of May, RISD stakeholders will have opportunities to provide input, and that feedback will be incorporated into a profile that will be used to recruit and identify candidates that are the right fit for RISD.
How can the community participate in the search?
Participate in one or more community meetings over the month of May to provide input about what you want to see in RISD’s next superintendent. Any stakeholder can also participate in a community survey to provide input, opening the week of May 16th.

Who will be responsible for the hiring process?
Has the Board selected a firm that will provide superintendent search services? Yes, the Board has retained Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo, P.C., a law firm dedicated to Texas school districts, to facilitate the search process and assist Trustees with attracting a strong pool of candidates.
When will the Board hire the new Superintendent?
The Board intends to name a lone finalist for the superintendent position on July 18, 2022, and will vote to appoint the lone finalist as superintendent at the first board meeting after the required 21 day waiting period.
