Pregnancy Related Services

RISD Student Services provides an integrated program of educational and support services for students who are pregnant or parenting.

Each high school campus has a Pregnancy Related Services (PRS) teacher who is equipped to teach the course and support the students’ ongoing success. The PRS teachers not only support their high school students, but also offer support to the other schools in their learning community.

The Life Skills Program for Student Parents (LSPSP) course – one of the ways RISD can help pregnant and parenting students meet their current challenges – is designed to help students prepare for pregnancy and parenthood and offers a nurturing environment where students can grow academically and emotionally. The course is designed to give students the opportunity to continue their education in school while adjusting to the changes pregnancy and parenting brings to their lives physically and mentally.

If you are a student (or you know a student) facing the uncertainty of being pregnant or a parent, we can help.
