Curriculum and Instruction

RISD Curriculum and Instruction are designed to challenge all learners and set high standards for achievement. In all courses, district curriculum follows the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills set forth by the State Board of Education. In addition to core curricular areas – language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts – RISD curriculum provides programs and support for those with disabilities, Gifted and Talented students, ESL/bilingual students, and alternative programs for credit recovery and GED completion.
