Understanding CTE Programs of Study
The Texas Education Agency’s Division of College, Career, and Military Preparation has engaged members of the workforce, secondary education, and higher education to advise on the development of programs of study, including coherent sequences of courses, industry-based certifications, and work-based learning to ensure students are prepared for in-demand, high-skill, high-wage careers in Texas.
It is encouraged that all students in Richardson ISD complete a program of study that aligns with their future career goals. In order to be considered a completer, students must complete at least 3 courses, earning at least 4 credits within a program of study, one of which needs to be an advanced course.
