Program Overview

The RISD Ambassador program will provide participants with a comprehensive overview and understanding of Richardson ISD. This professional learning series is designed to change the conversation about public schools from the inside out. Ultimately, the school district wants the community members who graduate as Ambassadors to feel empowered to actively advocate for RISD’s students and staff.

RISD Ambassadors will also be invited to volunteer on committees and task forces and called upon to support the district brand by engaging as a key communicator within the RISD community to support the district’s mission and vision. RISD Ambassadors will be encouraged to invite others to get informed, be involved, and advocate for public education.

Program Goal

The ultimate goal of the RISD Ambassador program is to create a community of informed leaders. The program will provide community members with opportunities to explore the inner workings of the school district and create a foundation of understanding and involvement in Richardson ISD.

RISD Ambassadors will graduate from the program understanding the impact of their voice and may be called upon to support and actively participate in strategic planning, district and campus improvement teams, focus groups, and other RISD committees.

Program Dates and Times

This program will feature seven sessions at Richardson ISD locations, culminating in the recognition of our 25-26 class of RISD Ambassadors at the May board meeting.

Please review the participant expectations and the attendance policy. Program topics and locations will be released upon acceptance into the program.
