Federal Programs and Grants

Overview

RISD receives supplementary federal, state resources along with contributions from local foundations and community organizations to assist students in meeting challenging state academic performance standards. This service area works with Campus leadership, Teaching and Learning Services, Student Services, Special Student Services, Leadership and Intervention and other departments to maintain compliance with federal/ state program funding requirements and to ensure grant funds are spent according to EDGAR guidelines. All required documentation is obtained and retained in the department for auditing purposes. All grant funds received support RISD’s North Star goal of every student, teacher and leader meeting or exceeding their academic growth goals.

Registering a student does not automatically qualify a student for transportation. Families who live within two miles of school do not qualify for transportation under Texas guidelines unless there are circumstances such as special education services, homelessness, etc. Once a parent/guardian signs a student up, they will be notified by RISD transportation if they do or do not qualify.
