The Pearce and Richardson FIRST Robotics teams recently competed in the Fight Like a Girl and Texas Talon Throwdown competition at Rock Hill High School in Prosper ISD.
The Fight Like a Girl competition focused on increasing the participation of young women in STEM fields. RISD was the only district to field multiple teams with 100% all-female drive team participation. In the Texas Talon Throwdown, two RISD teams made it to the playoff rounds. with one team making it to the finals before breaking an intake in a nasty fall and receiving the finalist award.
SAVE THE DATE! The teams are scheduled to compete at the STEM Gals competition on Oct 7-8 at Wilson Middle School in Plano ISD. These October dates will be the last opportunities to see The Cybirds’ award-winning robot, Khrysoar, in action in a competition setting.
