RISD Fine Arts Month

RISD Celebrates Fine Arts - RISD is the ONE for Award Winning Fine Arts

Every March, RISD celebrates the impact of the arts and the fine arts teachers across all campuses and throughout the community. More than 32,000 students in Pre-K through 12th grade are impacted by the arts in RISD. That’s roughly 86% of all students in RISD who create, collaborate, problem-solve, and engage through an artistic opportunity that directly benefits all aspects of their learning and lives.

Extracurricular activities, such as the arts, are more than a fun enrichment opportunity for students. Students learn to lead, be part of a team, take responsibility, and demonstrate commitment. Not only do the arts develop positive character, but data shows the positive impact on both attendance and academic performance. Last school year, RISD students enrolled in fine arts had a daily attendance rate of 92.7% vs. 89% compared to non-participants.

RISD Fine Arts leads with a legacy of excellence and boasts state and nationally recognized programs in both Visual and Performing Arts. RISD was named a TAEA (Texas Art Educators Association) District of Distinction for the fifth consecutive year, and a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation for the 14th year.

We celebrate the creativity happening across our fine arts programs, art, music, theatre, dance, and more. We’re excited to spotlight the incredible work of our students and teachers throughout March.

Thank you to the amazing educators who go above and beyond to create real-world experiences and connections for students that will impact their lives for many years to come.

RISD is the ONE for Award-Winning Fine Arts.
