Richardson ISD is proud to celebrate the 189 teachers who are receiving the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designation. The total amount awarded to this group is $2,297,000. TIA rewards highly effective teachers who have earned this distinction through teacher performance metrics, student growth, professional development, and campus culture with monetary stipends.

In 2019, the 86th Texas Legislature created the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) as part of House Bill 3 (HB 3) to provide additional funding for effective teachers. RISD is one of more than 800 districts that have applied to participate in this state program to reward teacher excellence. HB 3 established the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) for approved school districts to recognize effective teachers at three distinct levels: Master (M), Exemplary (E), and Recognized (R). National Board Certified Teachers employed as public school teachers with an active National Board certificate may earn an automatic Recognized designation (NB).

RISD is proud to celebrate:

  • 47 Recognized Teachers
  • 105 Exemplary Teachers
  • 38 Master Teachers

98 teachers in this group were new or received the distinction previously and moved up to a higher level of recognition this year and received big checks! 12 also hold a National Board Certification. This is the largest cohort to receive this honor since the program was fully implemented in RISD in the 2020-2021 school year.

Congratulations to these outstanding educators who were newly recognized or moved up to a higher level of distinction this year.
