Review of Instructional Materials

The RISD instructional materials allotment team is beginning to meet to review the subject matter.

The Texas Education Agency has made Proclamation 2024 Pre-Adoption Samples available to review and comment on. Any resident of Texas may submit written comments about instructional materials under consideration for adoption or report errors in these materials until  Monday, Oct. 30.

TEA provides support and coordination for the review, adoption, and distribution of state-adopted instructional materials and provides Texas educators with direct access to select materials. RISD stakeholders are welcome to review these instructional materials and provide feedback. RISD will hold a public review on Jan. 23 of the state list of approved textbooks and other instructional materials.

A dozen RISD team members, including bilingual campus leaders, administrative staff, and one parent comprise the central instructional materials allotment team that will make a final recommendation to the RISD board later this spring.
