Texas HS Coaches Appreciation Day

texas high school coaches day

November 3 is the first Texas High School Coaches Day, and RISD joins school districts across the state to recognize the dedication and support of our coaches.

According to THSCA Executive Director Joe Martin, The Rev. Billy Graham once said: “Coaches will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” Martin said that’s why it is important to celebrate the contributions of high school and middle school coaches across Texas. #TXHSCoachesDay

“Coaches are full-time teachers, department chairs, hall monitors and cafeteria monitors, disciplinarians, and grief counselors,” Martin said. “Coaches are field trip bus drivers, pep rally leaders, part-time field and facility maintenance workers, security guards, and janitors. They are the first to arrive on campus and the last to leave at night. But above all, they care for students and the community without expectation of praise and recognition.”
