PTA Used Book Fair Needs Donations

RISD Council of PTAs

The 42nd annual RISD Council of PTAs Used Book Fair is set for Feb. 15-19 at the same location as last year at 616 Sherman St. in Richardson.

The freezing temperatures in early January led to a burst water pipe at the facility that resulted in the loss of about 1,100 books. Hence, this important annual fundraiser could use more donations. The Used Book Fair accepts any and all books, as well as albums and DVDs. Some RISD campuses have a collection box, and the Council of PTAs seeks volunteers to help sort and stack books at 616 Sherman St. in Richardson.

Donations can be made at 616 Sherman St. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, and Friday, Feb. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The facility also will be open to donations and volunteers from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. the entire week of Feb. 5-9.

Please click here to sign up for a volunteer slot. All are welcome, including students who need service hours. Proceeds from the UBF help fund scholarships for graduating seniors. #RISDWeAreOne
