Decade of Excellence in Music Education

2021 Best Communities in Music Education

For the 10th consecutive year, Richardson ISD is one of the best communities for music education in the country.

“The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education,” according to the NAMM Foundation, which has been honoring school districts for exemplary music education for 22 years.

Executive Director of Fine Arts Jeff Bradford said this is the 12th time overall that RISD has been recognized by the NAMM Foundation.

“The backbone of our students’ success is high-quality teaching by some of the finest educators in our state,” Bradford said. “Leaders and innovators in their respective music areas, the RISD team of teachers provide opportunities for students to engage and experience excellence like no place else in their PreK-12 career. Our teachers’ commitment to high standards and impactful music opportunities is what drives our district’s music education success.”

Congratulations to RISD’s music educators, and thank you to the RISD community for its ongoing support of students and Fine Arts.
