Coach Christina Fuller Named the Texas Elementary PE Teacher of the Year

Richardson ISD is proud to congratulate Coach Christina Fuller, Moss Haven Elementary, for being recognized as the 2025 Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year by the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (TAHPERD).

Fuller has taught at Moss Haven Elementary for 7 years and has served in the Lake Highlands learning community in RISD for over 16 years. She also serves on district’s Elementary PE Lead team. She is known for the meaningful connections she makes with her students and for creating unique and memorable themed learning experiences. Her class activities feature student favorites like Minecraft, Super Mario, Pokemon, pool noodles, and more. Whether she is leading class, field day, or a student/teacher kickball game, her focus is on building cooperation, teamwork, and communication in ways that are fun and engaging. 

“I am humbled to receive the Elementary PE Teacher of the Year award,” says Christina Fuller. “This recognition is not just about me—it’s about the amazing students who inspire me daily, the supportive colleagues I get to learn from, and the power of physical education and its role in helping every child discover the joy of movement, build lifelong wellness habits, and feel successful through physical activity.”

Last school year, Fuller also helped lead Moss Haven Elementary in being recognized as #5 in the state for student participation in Finn’s Mission and in funds raised during the Kids Heart Challenge by the American Heart Association.

Fuller will be recognized at the 102nd Annual TAHPERD Convention in Fort Worth on Friday, December 5, 2025.
