Make a Difference, Be a Hero – Bullying & Drug Prevention

LIVE WISE LIVE HEALTHY logo

Live Wise Live Healthy provides community-wide training, programming, and opportunities to empower young people through healthy and wise decision-making and meaningful, life-changing experiences. Each month, students, staff, and parents will receive information about a different topic.

Each October, Richardson ISD recognizes National Bullying Prevention Month, Fentanyl Awareness Month, and National Red Ribbon Week. Students in grades K – 5 will receive bullying prevention lessons and discuss the difference between being rude or mean and bullying as well as how to respond in these situations. Students in grades 4 and 5 will continue their “Too Good for Drugs” lesson series. Students in grades 6 – 12 will receive the following drug prevention lessons: Cannabis and You-th, Fentanyl and Opioid Awareness, and Health Risks of Smokeless Tobacco and Other Nicotine Products. For Red Ribbon Week, campuses will plan activities to go along with the educational lessons, which may include refusal skills and safety lessons from high schools peer leaders (PALS).
