All four RISD marching bands qualified and competed in the 6A Area C UIL marching contest in Mesquite, held on Saturday, October 31.
In the preliminary round, bands across the area competed for a score and ranking from five different judges; two marching and three music. All put on strong performances, and after the preliminary round, Richardson, Pearce, and Berkner advanced to the Area C finals, with Lake Highlands High School finishing in 12th. The top 10 scores from the prelims then competed in the finals in the evening.
