RISD Fine Arts proudly announces the selection of 14 RISD students to All State band, choir or orchestra. These students were selected through a rigorous statewide audition process and will participate in the Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio Feb. 9-12. Musicians in the All State band, choir and orchestra are in the top 0.5% of all student musicians in Texas.
Congratulations to Charlie Harris, Eldin Zelkanovic and David Walker from the Berkner band and Noah Lopez from Berkner choir; Audrey Pottkotter and Ella Murray from Lake Highlands choir; Ben Kaplan from Pearce band and Abaigeal Parker from Pearce choir; and Irene Chao from Richardson HS orchestra, Matthew Hock, Juan Fajardo and Mia Simmons from RHS band and Rachel Chapman and Lili Bannister from RHS Choir.
This is Audrey Pottkotter’s second time as a member of All State choir, and Irene Chao’s fourth time as a member of the All State orchestra!
