Program Update: RISD Ambassadors Will Return in the 2027–28 School Year!
Thank you for your continued interest in and support of the RISD Ambassadors program.
To ensure we are providing the most impactful and up-to-date experience for our community leaders, the RISD Ambassadors program is taking a brief hiatus for planning and curriculum alignment. In addition, the community engagement team will dedicate additional efforts towards engaging area businesses to partner with the district for the Community Impact Partner initiative. This focus will help build strong, mutually beneficial relationships across our community while the Ambassador program prepares for its return in the 2027-2028 school year.
What is the RISD Ambassadors Program?
The RISD Ambassador program provides participants with a comprehensive overview and understanding of Richardson ISD. This professional learning series is designed to change the conversation about public schools from the inside out. Ultimately, the school district wants the community members who graduate as Ambassadors to feel empowered to actively advocate for RISD’s students and staff.
What to Expect Moving Forward:
- An inside look at district operations, strategic goals, budgeting, and campus life.
- Tools and knowledge to help you amplify your voice and champion public education from the inside out.
- Opportunities to serve on key district committees, task forces, and focus groups.

We appreciate your patience as we refine our programming to better serve our community. The Ambassador program will officially resume for the 2027–2028 school year.
- Information regarding the application process, session schedules, and deadlines for the 2027–28 cohort will be posted right here on this page in Spring 2027.
- Who’s Eligible: The program welcomes RISD parents, community members, PTA participants, faith-based partners, and local business owners.
