Backpack Bash 2026-27

The 2026-27 school year is right around the corner, and this year’s Backpack Bash is coming to a campus near you in August 2026.
This annual event provides school supplies, enrollment support and other resources, while connecting RISD families to programs and services in a festive back-to-school atmosphere. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year confidently with all the tools they need to succeed.
We are so grateful for the many sponsors and donors who have provided the resources and volunteers to help us provide backpacks and school supplies, and we look forward to another successful event this upcoming school year.

For more information about becoming a campus champion, donating supplies, or becoming a volunteer, please email Sonya Parker Goode.

Our History

Important Reminders

  • Backpack Bash supplies will be distributed at your child’s home school until the school runs out of supplies.
  • Students must be enrolled in RISD and must attend the RISD school where they are enrolled to pick up supplies.
  • Please look for communication updates and reminders from your campus in the coming weeks.

RISD students in every corner of the school district face challenges when it comes to acquiring school supplies, and we believe every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year confidently with all the tools they need to succeed.
