Bond 2021 Propositions Approved – Thank You RISD Community!

Bond props approved

In the May 1 election, voters in Richardson ISD approved both Bond 2021 propositions A and B. Proposition A (Facilities, Construction, Equipment & Safety) was approved by 63.08% of voters, and Proposition B (Technology) was approved by 63.16% of voters. More than 20,000 RISD voters participated, per the unofficial results.

“On behalf of RISD students and staff, I am filled with gratitude and very thankful for our community’s support of public schools,” RISD Superintendent Dr. Jeannie Stone said. “The items in Bond 2021 will benefit all RISD campuses, allow the district to move toward a middle school model and full-day pre-Kindergarten for every RISD family, build new classrooms to accommodate student growth, and kick off a long-range facilities vision to address RISD’s aging school buildings. We are committed to being good stewards of the tax dollars entrusted to us, and this approval of Bond 2021 will not require an increase to RISD’s tax rate. Thank you to everyone in the RISD community who took the time to become informed and cast a vote in this election.”

As bond projects are planned and completed between 2021-2026, RISD stakeholders will be able to monitor progress through the Bond 2021 website. Thank you to the Richardson ISD community for investing in our schools.
