Book Bash

Book Bash as Bukhair

RISD library and information technology educators distributed about 2,600 books to students at a few elementary campuses ahead of the first day of school. As a district focused on building a culture of reading, RISD encourages all parents, staff, and stakeholders to join students in actively reading and discussing books.

“Research and experience have shown us that having books in the home not only promotes and improves literacy but helps future academic growth,” RISD Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Dr. Denise Beutel said. “We are excited to help promote a culture of literacy with our RISD families.”
