Bright Star Track Meet

RISD’s second annual Bright Star track meet was held this week at Eagle-Mustang Stadium.

Dozens of secondary students with disabilities from all four learning communities competed in a number of different events, coached and mentored by student volunteers, and a great time was had by all.

RHS Principal Chris Choat said the event is part of creating a culture of inclusiveness on campuses.

“It’s a great feeling seeing the smiles on the faces of the kids as they hear their name called and they come up to receive a medal. What I didn’t expect was to see the same joy from our mentor students. Just simply amazing!”

Congratulations to our organizers, volunteers, and participants! #RISDBelieves
