The RISD Counselors of the Year are Paige Pendery of Northwood Hills Elementary and Chelsea Alvarado of Forest Meadow Junior High School.

In 2019, RISD established a counselor of the year award: Leader of the Heart. The recognition coincides with National School Counselor week.

Pendery and Alvarado will now represent RISD in the process to determine the Texas School Counselor of the Year, which was won last year by Kelly Mountjoy of Parkhill Junior High.

Congratulations, Paige and Chelsea! #RISDGreatness
