The Berkner High School STEM Academy includes an Immersion Studio that provides students with an unparalleled 21st century learning experience. Construction of the STEM center and Immersion Studio that has been featured in multiple publications was funded by RISD taxpayers through Bond 2016.
Berkner’s increased focus on STEM, which affects nearly 10,000 students across the 16 campuses in the learning community, brings elementary students to the center to learn about and work on robotics, graphic design, 3-D printing, and more.
The space has become a gathering place for the community, evidenced by a recent meeting of the latest Leadership Richardson cohort. Superintendent Branum provided a district update as the community members got an inside view of RISD’s CTE programs.
