A Day of Joy for RISD Students

Student running through a field of toys

This past weekend, Richardson ISD had the honor to host the Day of Joy, by the Doing Good in Dallas organization, founded by the Stella Jet Experience and funded through the Trina’s Kids Foundation. The Eagle-Mustang Stadium was transformed into Santa’s Spectacular Mini Mall, where thousands of brand-new toys, games, bikes, and more filled the field, bringing holiday cheer to RISD students in need.

At the exciting event for selected families, over 1,000 Richardson ISD students were able to take a shopping spree of the Christmas shop using “Santa Bucks”. All kids were invited to choose five gifts to bring home. Eyes were filled with wonder, and laughter was in the air as they ran around the field picking from the near-endless selection of toys.

A Day of Joy was way more than just a shopping experience; it was a Christmas spectacular! Children had a chance to meet Santa, grab a sweet treat from Dunkin’ Donuts and Everbowl, and even get their nails done while enjoying festive songs by the event DJ.

Thank you to many generous donors, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers who worked together to make the event happen, and to Doing Good in Dallas for organizing this incredible event benefiting RISD students. It made a world of difference to every family who attended, and it was truly a Day of Joy!
