District Spelling Bee 2026

Spelling Bee Medal

The annual Richardson ISD District Spelling Bee Competition among students in fourth through eighth grade representing 36 schools took place on Wednesday, January 14. Each student won the Spelling Bee for their campus to earn a spot at the district competition.

The winners are Samik B., Luciana B., Lucy S., Penelope G., and Zafar K.! The winning words were apostrophe, chancellor, percolator, and acoustic. These students have demonstrated not only their strong command of the English language but also their dedication and hard work leading up to this competition. We applaud their efforts and commend them for their remarkable success.

The winning students then took an additional 50-word vocabulary test to determine which two would move on to represent RISD at the Dallas County Spelling Bee

Samik B. – MST Magnet, and Luciana B. – Mohawk Elementary, came out on top and will represent Richardson ISD at the county bee next month.

Congratulations to all the winners and best of luck to Samik and Luciana in the next round!
