Dyslexia Parent Night

Richardson ISD Dyslexia Parent Night

Join the RISD dyslexia team on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Professional Development Center at 701 W. Belt Line Road in Richardson from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to learn more about this common learning difference.

RISD dyslexia therapists will explain what intervention programming and resources the school district uses, and talk about ways for parents to support students with dyslexia at home. There also will be an “Experience Dyslexia” simulation.

Dyslexia is a neurological condition caused by a different wiring in the brain that impacts the ability to read and spell. Because nearly 1 out of 5 people has dyslexia, it is important to recognize the signs early to provide the necessary remediation. It’s also important to understand this learning difference and encourage each child’s individual strengths.
