The Richardson Independent School District (RISD) provides electronic access to attendance, demographic, grade, and other information related to its students via the Focus School Software system. This information is intended for the use of the student and the student’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) only.

Information & Procedures

While RISD strives to ensure information in the Focus School Software system is accurate and up-to-date, official information is maintained in the student’s cumulative record and/or Academic Achievement Record (AAR). Any student demographic or contact information that is found to be incorrect should be reported to and corrected by campus administrative staff. A parent, guardian, or student who believes grade information is incorrect should promptly contact the Teacher of Record for the class in question.

Your Focus Parent Portal username and password should not be shared with unauthorized individuals. RISD will not be responsible for unauthorized access to or use of such information.

RISD expects teachers to post assignment scores within five (5) school days of the assignment due date. However, some projects and assignments may take longer to complete and grade. Therefore, results for such projects and assignments may not be updated as quickly as others. Teachers are encouraged to communicate regularly with parents, guardians and students in such instances. Although many teachers update information more frequently, RISD requires that teachers meet the minimum grade posting expectation. Any data presented by Focus School Software is subject to change without notice.

Although RISD strives to provide access to student information through Focus School Software at all times, technical difficulties, including those beyond district control, may make such access temporarily unavailable. As a result, continuous, uninterrupted access to the Focus Parent Portal cannot be guaranteed.

In order to create a parent account in Focus, you must have a valid email address, and your child’s Social Security Number or State ID number, as well as your child’s RISD student I.D. number. The student I.D. number can be found on progress reports, report cards and other official documents from RISD. If you are unable to create an account online via the links provided below, please contact your child’s school for assistance.
