Student Speakers
Traditional graduation ceremony speeches by class valedictorians and salutatorians will be video productions prepared by the students in conjunction with videography departments. Video speeches will be shown on the main screens during ceremonies to ensure a consistent graduation experience for all members of the graduating classes, and their families and guests.
The content of each student speaker’s message is the private, voluntary expression of the individual student and does not reflect the endorsement, sponsorship, position, or expression of the District or its employees.
Inclement Weather Protocol
In the event of inclement weather at the time of a graduation, RISD can delay the start of the event by up to two hours. Weather delays will be communicated over the speaker system and also posted to risd.org for those watching the live stream. If inclement weather lasts longer than two hours, or the forecast includes a high probability of dangerous weather such as severe thunderstorms or hail, then RISD may postpone a graduation to an alternate day.
If the May 24 Graduation must be postponed, the ceremony would be moved to May 26 at 8 pm at Wildcat Ram Stadium.
If either of the May 25 Graduations must be postponed, the ceremony would be moved to May 26 at 8 pm or May 28 at 8am at Wildcat Ram Stadium.
If the May 26 morning Graduation must be postponed, the ceremony would be moved to May 26 at 8 pm or May 28 at 8 am at Wildcat Ram Stadium. The date would be based on whether the previous day’s graduations had also been postponed, and would be communicated immediately to graduating seniors and their parents, as well as posted on the RISD website and social media channels.
About the Clinic
The RISD Acute Care Clinic, located in the Network of Community Ministries building, is for all full-time RISD employees and their dependents. There is a $10 co-pay to visit the clinic. No medical insurance is required.
Patients do not have to schedule specific appointment times to visit the clinic, but call-ahead scheduling is available and highly recommended. Walk-in patients will be informed of a time to be seen by the provider based upon the number of patients being taken that day. They will then have the option to wait at the clinic to be seen by the provider or return to the clinic at the time designated by the clinic personnel.
Occasionally, due to medical personnel availability, there will be days in which not all employees desiring to be seen will be able to visit the medical provider that same day.
Acute Care currently provided for:
- Strep throat
- Flu
- Bladder infection
- Pink eye
- Infection (ear, nose, throat)
- Minor Wounds/abrasions
- Joint sprain
- Skin conditions (poison ivy, ringworm, acne)
Low-Cost, Quality Care
The $10 co-pay covers all services rendered for both an in person or virtual visit. Insurance is not required. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted.
If a prescription is needed, the clinic will call it into the pharmacy of the patient’s choice. Prescription cost is at the patient’s expense (whether insurance or co-pay).
