Regina Harris and Rachel McGowan were officially sworn in as RISD Trustees this week at the monthly work session of the board.
Harris is the board president and was unopposed in the May 7 election. McGowan received 51% of the votes in single-member district 5, according to the final official results from Dallas County.

For the May 3 Trustee election, single-member districts 2 and 5 have contested elections. As a reminder, only voters who reside in single-member districts 2 or 5 may vote in that single-member district’s election.
On April 17, families residing outside of RISD boundaries may apply to attend an RISD school for the 2025-26 school year.
