Instructional Materials Review

The RISD instructional materials allotment team met and would like to present recommended options for public viewing and comment.  The Texas Education Agency provides support and coordination for the review, adoption, and distribution of state-adopted instructional materials, and provides Texas educators with direct access to select materials.

RISD stakeholders are welcome to review these instructional materials and provide feedback. RISD will hold a public viewing of recommended materials on Monday, Feb. 26, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Professional Development Center Building A at 701 W. Belt Line Road in Richardson.

If you are unable to attend the public viewing, the TEA has made Proclamation 2024 pre-adoption samples available for review and comment. Any RISD resident may virtually submit written comments about instructional materials under consideration or report errors in these materials until March 1.

The instructional materials being evaluated in this adoption process include:

  • Science K-12
  • Social Studies – Personal Finance Literacy and Economics
  • Career Development and Career Technical Education

A dozen RISD team members, including bilingual campus leaders, administrative staff, and one parent comprise the central instructional materials allotment team that will make a final recommendation to the RISD board later this spring.
