Internet Safety Seminar

RISD parents, guardians, and community members are invited to a technology education event at the PDC Auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Lana Aherns, Director of Training and Community Outreach at Dallas County Children’s Advocacy Center, will present new ways to protect children no matter how they access the internet.

Technology changes all the time, and kids are constantly finding the newest websites, apps, and gadgets. While most children are not getting into trouble online, it’s up to all of us to teach basic rules of internet safety so children use all of these resources responsibly. The discussion topics are not specific to just one device or website.

Spanish translation will be available, and RISD staff can receive professional learning credit for attending.

The RISD Professional Development Center is located at 701 West Belt Line Road in Richardson.
