RISD trustees, Superintendent Tabitha Branum and Principal Nick Rustin joined students in the Class of 2031 at the groundbreaking for the new Lake Highlands Middle School. These students will be the first sixth graders to use the new facility in the fall of 2024.
Dallas City Council Member Adam McGough and representatives from architectural firm Perkins & Will and Cadence McShane construction company were also on hand for the groundbreaking.
With the passage of Bond 2021, RISD voters provided the funding mechanisms for the district to begin the construction projects necessary for the middle school transformation.
